1953)
Funeral services for Mrs. Winifred
Holliday, who died Sunday, were held this afternoon at 2:30
o’clock at the Hartwig & Ruesch Funeral home at Medford,
after which internment was made in the Abbotsford cemetery. The
Rev. Orin Babler, Abbotsford, officiated.
Winifred Folsom was born Jan. 16, 1879,
in the town of Mayville, in Clark county. She spent her girlhood on
a farm in Taylor county and was married in that county to Arthur
Holliday on July 1, 1879 (mistake in paper). To this union were
born five children. One son died in infancy. Also preceding her in
death was her husband.
She leaves to mourn her loss her four
children, Lee, of Brooks, Wis., and daughters, Mrs. Melvin
(Waunita) Leischer, Wisconsin Dells; Carroll, of Babcock; and Mrs.
Alfred (Ruth) Peissig, of Rib Lake.
There are also three sisters, Mrs. Myra
Hawks and Mrs. Ferdinand A. (Grace) Haack of Abbotsford; Mrs. C. J.
(Florence) Hayden, Durbanville; N.Y.; and one brother, Howard
Folsom, of Martell, Calif. There are ten grand children.
Mrs. Holliday had been in failing health
the past two years. She had been here with her sisters the past few
months and five weeks ago was taken to the Divine Saviour hospital
at Portage where death, caused by cancer, came Sunday at 1:50
p.m.
Among the relatives and friends who attended the funeral were Mr. and Mrs. F. A. Haack, Mrs. Stella Brady, Mr. and Mrs. Howard Kramer and Dennis; Mrs. Myra Hawks, Abbotsford; Mr. and Mrs. Allen Hawks, Curtiss; and Mr. and Mrs. Warren Lewis and son, Spencer.
