A get-together of Mrs. George
Barker’s four grand children was held Monday evening at the
Barker home. Present were Mr. and Mrs. John Henry and family, of
St. Louis; Tech Sgt. and Mrs. Loren Bates, and family, of Topeka,
Kansas; Mr. and Mrs. B. D. Moore and family, Colby; and Miss
Mernajean Moore, Abbotsford.
Mr. and Mrs. George Vetter and Mr. and
Mrs. Clarence Dolan drove to Prairie du Chien, Saturday to attend
the celebration on Sunday for their brother, the Very Rev. Paul
Monarski, who was observing the 30th anniversary of his
priesthood and the 25th anniversary as pastor of St.
John’s congregation.
Joe Klettner, Chicago, is visiting at the
home of Jasper Kovacs and at the Archie Melvin home. He came Friday
and will be here about a week.
Guests at the Rudy Younker home on July 4
were Mr. and Mrs. Albert Wade, Milwaukee; Mr. and Mrs. Nyle Brandt,
Fond du Lac; Mr. and Mrs. John Stange and family, and Mrs. Mae
Keefe, of Wausau.
Albert Reis, Antigo, spent Monday and
Tuesday at the George Calmes home.
Mrs. Martha Wiesjahn, who had been
visiting relatives at Auburndale, came Tuesday. She is staying at
the home of Mrs. Bertha Hessel.
Mrs. Gene Wilde, who underwent an
appendectomy at St. Joseph’s hospital, Marshfield, was
discharged Friday.
Mr. and Mrs. Leonard Braasch, of
Okauchee, came on June 27, to visit her mother, Mrs. Lillian
Ellerman. Mr. Braasch returned the next day and came again last
Saturday, accompanied by his sister, Nancy. They all returned
Wednesday. Other relatives at the Ellerman home over the week end
were Mrs. Vernon Ellerman and son, Michael, of Merrill, and Mr. and
Mrs. John Ellerman, of Manitowoc, who came on Monday and left on
Wednesday.
Week end guests at the home of Mr. and Mrs. Earl Smith were Mr. and Mrs. Marvin Sweeney, Mr. and Mrs. Ray Helleman and Mr. and Mrs. Myron Fohr, of Hales Corners.
