Scheuerman, Mr./Mrs. Carl (50^th Anniv. - 9 July 1953) 
 

The golden wedding anniversary of Mr. and Mrs. Carl Scheuerman occurred Thursday, July 9, and on Sunday a surprise celebration was held in their honor, with dinner at noon. The center piece at the table was a golden money tree, flanked by golden candles. Gold lace doilies helped carry out the decorating scheme.  
 

Guests in attendance were Mr. and Mrs. Arnold Scheuerman, Laona; Mr. and Mrs. Denzil Van Gorder and family, Eau Claire; Mr. and Mrs. Herman Waldhart and family, Greenwood; Mr. and Mrs. Ervin Bitter and Mr. and Mrs. Henry Bitter, Abbotsford; Mr. and Mrs. Edgar Bitter, Iowa Falls, Iowa; Mr. and Mrs. Nick Selzner, Chippewa Falls; Mr. and Mrs. Harold Custer and family, Mr. and Mrs. George Webb and family and Mr. and Mrs. Lester Palmer and daughter of Bloomer; Mr. and Mrs. Keith Shopman and family and Mrs. Vivian Taves and children, Chippewa Falls; Mr. and Mrs. James Byerl, Colby; Mr. and Mrs. Clifford Ellingson and family, Stetsonville; Mr. and Mrs. John Fecker and Mrs. Kathleen Hutchins, Darleen and Michael, of Abbotsford. 
 

Mrs. Scheuerman, the former Hattie Bitter, was born in Oshkosh and came with her parents to Dorchester at the turn of the century. Mr. Scheuerman came to the Dorchester community with his parents when he was almost 11 years old. They were married at Peace Evangelical Lutheran church July 9, 1903, and for the next eight years, lived on a farm one and one-half miles north of Dorchester and then for another eight years, lived on a farm five miles north of Curtiss, from where they moved to their farm, four miles west of Abbotsford, where the Four Corners Cheese Factory and Hiway store are located. Fifteen years ago they moved to the village of Abbotsford. 
 

The Scheuermans have three children: Arnold, of Laona; Mrs. Denzil Van Gorder, Chippewa Falls; and Mrs. Herman Waldhart, Greenwood. Mrs. Scheuerman has three brothers and one sister: Edgar, Harvey and Ervin Bitter, and Mrs. Nic Selzner. Al l were here for the celebration. Mr. Scheuerman has only one sister, in Seattle, Washington. 
 

There are 11 grand children.
