Benzmann, Mr./Mrs. Paul (50th
Anniv. - 27 Sept. 1953)
The 50th wedding anniversary
of Mr. and Mrs. Paul Benzmann was observed Sunday, Sept. 27, at
their home near Milan.
Highlighting the observance were the
vesper services held in the afternoon at the Bethlehem Lutheran
Church, during which the Rev. Harold Malotky officiated, and Mrs.
Malotky sang "Lead, Kindly Light" accompanied by Mrs. Orville
Barkow.
Following the service, the group enjoyed
an old-fashioned "sing" after which members of the Ladies’
Aid Society and the Rev. Malotky presented special
entertainment.
As a surprise to the honored couple, the
Ladies Aid served supper to almost 80 relatives and friends in the
church parlors, where decorations were gold and white streamers and
gold bells. The specially decorated cake which centered the table
was a gift to them from a long time neighbor and friend, Mrs. Clara
Kramer.
Mrs. Benzmann, the former Martha Pagel,
