Mrs. Carl Jakel underwent major surgery at St. Joseph’s hospital, at Marshfield, a week ago, Saturday. She was discharged Wednesday. 
 

Mrs. August Maik, Milwaukee, spent the week end at the M. C. Thompson home. 
 

Mr. and Mrs. Arvin Kramer and son were at Spring Green and Madison, last week. 
 

Major and Mrs. Leroy Stump and three children arrived here Saturday night, having just returned from Germany, where Major Stump had been for a year, and the family since May. Major Stump left again Sunday night for New York to enter a hospital. Mrs. Stump and the girls are staying here with his parents, Mr. and Mrs. George M. Stump. Mary Lou started school. 
 

Mr. and Mrs. Jack Helding and family, Alma Center, spent the week end at the home of her parents, Mr. and Mrs. M. C. Thompson. 
 

Mr. and Mrs. Al Koenig took their grand son, Mark Koenig, to Marshfield Tuesday night. He had been here the past five days, while his mother, Mrs. William Koenig, was in the hospital. He has a new sister, Karleen Rae, born at the hospital, Nov. 12. 
 

Mrs. Adolph Voge recently received a merchandise check for having successfully named all the songs played on a radio program. 
 

On Thursday evening, Mrs. Arthur Steele visited her sister-in-law, Mrs. Walter Bruesewitz, of Spencer, who is seriously ill at St. Joseph’s hospital, Marshfield. 
 

Mrs. William Eiver, of Madison, brought her little niece, Audrey Olsen, home Sunday. Her daughter, Miss Evelyn Eiver, also came and is staying to help at the Norman Olsen home, as Mrs. Olsen will be required to do considerable resting for some time. Mrs. Olsen came home from St. Joseph’s hospital, Marshfield, Friday afternoon, having been a patient there the past four and one-half weeks.
