Patrick J. Kennedy, 61, Spencer, died on Monday, Aug. 3, 2009,
surounded by his loved ones after a lengthy battle with cancer. A
celebration of his life will take place at 2 p.m., on Saturday.
Aug. 8, at the Lonely Few Clubhouse, Riplinger.
Patrick Joseph Kennedy was born on Jan. 9, 1948, in Park Falls, to
R.J. and Dorothy Kennedy. He graduated from Medford High School in
1966. He served as a submariner in the U.S. Navy from 1966-70. He
worked in the local construction industry and Bock Industries of
Spencer. He owned and operated Pat’s Little Club Tavern until
July 2008. He married the love of his life and his favorite fishing
partner, Carol Hardinger on May 22, 2006. He enjoyed fishing,
gunsmithing, pistol shoots and riding Harleys. He was a founding
member and past president of the Lonely Few Motorcycle Club. He was
also a member of the American Legion and the National Rifle
Association.
Survivors include his wife, Carol, Spencer; five brothers, Denny
(Marilyn) Kennedy, Tampa Fla., Brad (Jane) Kennedy, Wausau, Jim
(Kathleen) Kennedy, Denver, Colo., Kevin (Cindy) Kennedy, Woodbury,
Minn., and Kelly Kennedy, Madison; and one sister, Kathy (Jim)
Hawkins, LaCrosse; two step-sons, Don Wegener and Dan Wegener; and
nieces and nephews, Kevin, Catherine, Katie, Clara, Laura, Shea,
Shannon, Ryan, Rachel and Colin.
Preceding him in death were his parents; and his niece, Katie.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be given to the Children’s
Miracle Network or the Sunshine Foundation.
