Degenhardt, Katherine (11 MAY 1880-19 JAN. 1946)
Mrs. Katherine Degenhardt, 65, who for the past three years made her home with her son, Leo, in the town of Loyal, died there at 9:30 p.m. Monday. Jan. 21. She had been in poor health the past two years.
Mrs. Degenhardt, a member of the Altar Society of St. Anthony’s Catholic church here, was the former Katherine Baus. She was born on May 11, 1880, in Monroe county and was married at St. Mary’s Ridge in the same county on July 4, 1899, to Martin Denenhardt, who preceded her in death on Aug. 29, 1936. The Degenhardts operated a farm here.
Surviving are four sons, Leo, Henry, Frank and Alfred Degenhardt; two daughters, Mrs. Leo (Julia) Michalski and Mrs. William (Margaret) Michalski, both of Marshfield; 37 grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; four sisters, Mrs. Math Rondorf of Loyal, Mrs. Peter Schmidt and Mrs. Herman Flock of Cashton and Mrs. Joseph Laeche of Dyrsville, Ia., and two brothers, William and Herman Baus of South Dakota.
A son Roman died in 1930.
Funeral services were held at St. Anthony’s Catholic church on Friday morning, with the Rev. Aloys Zinthefer officiating. Burial was in the parish cemetery.
John Elsinger, Leo Theisen, Bonie Wehe, Joe Wendel, Nick Beaver and Ed Domaine served as pallbearers. The flower girls were Eleanor, Darlene and Alberta Degenhardt and Elaine Michalski.

William Baus, of Hoveh, S.D.; Mr. and Mrs. Herman Flock and son, Charles, Mr. and Mrs. Peter Schmitz and son, Raymond, Mr. and Mrs. Joe Degenhardt, Fred and Cecelia Degenhardt, Mrs, Kate Degenhardt and sons, Leonard and Omer, and Mrs. Frank Mashek and son, Sylvester, all of Cashton; Mr. and Mrs. Morris Einshut and daughter, Mildred, Mrs. Mary Hubing and Mr. and Mrs. Wally Englebrecht, all of Athens; Mr.and Mrs. Anton Hubing, Mrs. Frank Schmidt and daughter and son, Gerald, Mr. and Mrs. Tony Erbenbach and Peter Erbenbach, all of Neillsville; Mr. and Mrs. George Buffington, Mr. and Mrs. Will Rondorf, Mr. and Mrs. Joe Binder, Mr. and Mrs. William Michalski and sons, Donald and Marvin, and Mr. and Mrs. Leo Michalski and son, Robert, and Daughter, Elaine, all of Marshfield; Mr. and Mrs. Alfred Rondorf of Greenwood, and Mr. and Mrs. Fred LaBarge and Mr. and Mrs. Oscar Bauer of Spencer.
The Tribune extends to the bereaved its sympathy in the loss of a beloved relative.
