MEDFORD -- Marvin L. Tischendorf, 78, of
Medford died Wednesday, Aug. 12, 2009, in the Palliative Care Unit
at Aspirus Wausau Hospital.
Funeral services will be at 2 p.m.
Saturday at Hemer Funeral Home, Medford. Burial will follow in
Dorchester Public Cemetery.
Visitation will be Saturday at the
funeral home from 11 a.m. until time of services.
Marvin was born July 24, 1931, in
Dorchester, the son of Paul and Hattie (Grabowski) Tischendorf. He
was united in marriage Sept. 3, 1958, at Bessemer, Mich., to
Lovalice "Alice" Knoll.
Marvin is a U.S. Army veteran of the
Korean conflict. After his military service, he held various jobs
as a mechanic, carpenter and repair man in the Abbotsford,
Dorchester and Medford areas. He and his wife owned and operated
Northern Lights supper club north of Medford until ill health
forced his retirement in 1979.
He is survived by his wife, Lovalice "Alice" Tischendorf of Medford; three daughters, Tammy (Galen) Raasch of Medford, Trudy (Jeff) Lotter of Marathon and Tracy (Scott) Ridderbusch of Rhinelander; one son, Terry (Rita) Tischendorf of Medford; six grandchildren and two great-grandchildren; and a sister, Fern Hargraves of Abbotsford.
