GREENWOOD -- Janvid "Vitko" Staut, 93, of
Greenwood died Tuesday, Aug. 11, 2009, at the Clark County Health
Care Center in Owen.
Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m.
Tuesday, Aug. 18, 2009, at Holy Family Catholic Church in Willard.
Burial will follow in Holy Family Catholic Cemetery in Willard.
Visitation will be held at Cuddie Funeral Home in Greenwood from 4
p.m. to 8 p.m. Monday, with a 7 p.m. prayer service, and at Holy
Family Catholic Church on Tuesday from 10 a.m. until time of
service.
He was born on March 15, 1916, in Letus,
Slovenia. He served in the Yugoslav army. Janvid and the former
Mary Francis Volovsek were married Oct. 19, 1940, at Holy Family
Catholic Church in Willard. They owned and operated a farm in the
Willard area, and Janvid later worked at Presto Pressure Cooker in
Eau Claire and Trane Company in La Crosse. Following his retirement
in 1981, they moved back to the Willard and Greenwood
area.
He is survived by his three children,
John (Sophia) Staut of Onalaska, Victor (Mira) Staut of Eau Claire
and Mary Anne (Mike) Friedman of Denver, Colo.; 12 grandchildren
and 15 great-grandchildren.
Janvid was preceded in death by his wife
Mary on Oct. 15, 2005.
Cuddie Funeral Home, in Greenwood, is assisting the family with arrangements.
