Schilling Station

 

Warm weather is the order now.

 

Mr. W. H. Richards of Spokeville, was the guest of G. Phillips last Sunday. He reports land selling around Spokeville at good prices.

 

Mr. and Mrs. Ed. Vine were visitors of Mr. and Mrs. G. Phillips last Sunday.

 

Mrs. Ed. Bailey and daughter Meda of Greenwood, visited with Mrs. Geo. Harlos, July 31st.

 

Mrs. S. Andrews and sister, Blanch, of Greenwood, were visiting Mrs. Ed Vine Aug 1.

 

Miss Annie Johnson, of Greenwood, visited her cousins, Amanda and Josie Johnson, a couple of days last week.

 

S. R. Kelly is hauling stone for the piers of a bridge to be built across Popple river near Hemlock. Ralph Ferneau is working with him.

 

Albert Johnson bought a horse from H. Stabnaw. The consideration was one hundred dollars.

 

The farmers are busy trying to harvest their oats between showers.

 

Will Rossow took in the sights in the city of Marshfield last Monday.

 

Henry Grass says that he has rented Albert Stabnaw's farm for a year or more.

 

Rumor has it that S. Andrews sold his 80 acres of land on section 25 to a man from Chicago, whose name is Oscar Cook. One thousand dollars was the price.

 

Ole Peterson sold his farm of 60 acres to Guner Dyre for three thousand three hundred dollars.

 

Land is raising in value here every year, and people from others states are finding out that Clark county lands are a good thing to invest money in.

 

Albert Stabnaw has got his barn completed and it is a very handy one. It has a basement under it for stock.

 

Henry Grass has his road job finished.

 

Anthony Larson lost a two year old steer which was struck by lightning last Monday.

 

The Norwegian day school has commenced a term of one month in the Larson District, a student from Chicago being the teacher.

 

J. H. Stabnaw intends to start for Heckla, S. D. this week to rent a farm. His family will follow later if he finds circumstances as he expects.
