Roy LeRoy Crawshaw, son of John Crawshaw, was born in Nebraska, April 28, 1886. When he was one and one-half, his parents moved to Leedville, Colorado, and later to Lancaster and Curtiss, Wisconsin. He received his education in the public schools at the three foregoing-named cities. After finishing school he worked on his father’s farm at Curtiss. Six years later the family located in this city. During his early years in Marshfield, Mr. Crawshaw was a repairman in the car department of the Chicago and Northwestern Railway. Leaving the North Western Line he conducted a restaurant in Spencer for three years, after which he, his wife, and parents spent a year in Sacramento and Santiago, California. Returning to Marshfield, he farmed three years near Milladore, worked at the local plant of the Ripon Produce Company, and conducted a grocery store on West Cleveland Street, altogether spending about three years in each line of work. Six years ago he entered the dray business, in which he has since been engaged. His home is at 706 East Fourth Street. His mother died some years ago. 
 

Mr. Crawshaw was married to Miss Mary Curtis, daughter of Mrs. Jerome Curtis, by a Methodist minister, at the home of her parents, in Onawy, Michigan, in 1913. Mr. and Mrs. Crawshaw are the parents of five children: Margaret 15, Harold 13, Evelyn 11, Melvin 9 and Genevieve 6. Mrs. Crawshaw’s father passed away some years ago. Her mother formerly made her home in this city. 
 

Fraternally, Mr. Crawshaw is affiliated with the Marshfield Eagles and the Equitable Fraternal Union. Politically, he is Independent. His hobbies are fishing and hunting.
