Edwin Philip Michels, son of Mr. and Mrs.
Lambert Michels, Bakerville, was born at Bakerville, July 27, 1900.
He received his education in the public school in that community.
Leaving school he took a job as apprentice cheese maker in the
Joseph Henseler Factory at Bakerville. A year later he changed to a
job in a factory at Nasonville, and remained there a year. He next
managed a cooperative cheese factory at Ettrick in Jackson County
for two years, the Chili Dairy Company at Chili for one year, and
then purchased the Banner Cheese Factory at Owen, and operated it
for three years. Selling this factory he managed a factory near
Oshkosh for two years. In September 1926 he entered the employ of
the local federation warehouse. Last August he was promoted to his
present position.
Fraternally Mr. Michels is affiliated
with the Marshfield Eagles and the Central Wisconsin Cheesemakers,
Buttermakers and Dairymens Advancement Association.
He was married to Miss Ruth Murray,
daughter of Mrs. John Murray, Melrose, Jackson County, Wisconsin,
by Father Anthony Miller, now of Stanley, in the Bakerville
Catholic church, September 26, 1923. Mr. and Mrs. Michels have two
children: LaValle 3 and Audrey 8 months. The family home is at 505
South Cedar Street.
In politics, Mr. Michels is Independent. His hobby is motoring.
