Leo August Budahn, son of Mr. and Mrs. August Budahn, 303 West Blodgett Street, was born in Marshfield, on May 11, 1897, and has made his home here all his life. Following his graduation from St. John’s School he accepted a position as clerk in the Uthermeier-Hintz Store, which he held two years. He then took a job as driver for the Western Express Company. A year later he was advanced to express messenger on the Duluth Winnipeg and Pacific Railway Line with a run between Duluth and Fort Francis, Ontario. He held that job two years. Returning to Marshfield, he conducted a grocery store on West Cleveland Street for one year; managed the Northside Meat Market for Charles Hart for two years, and clerked in the Consumers for a year and one-half. He then engaged in business for himself in a general merchandise store in Unity, which he bought in July 1925. Due to ill health he sold out in October 1926. He then entered the employ of the S. Miller Fruit Company as a traveling salesman, and remained with them until March 1928. He changed to a similar position with the Copps Coffee Company of Stevens Point, with which he has been since. 
 

Mr. Budahn was married to Miss Bernice Nelson, daughter of Mrs. Chris Nelson, Unity, formerly of this city, at the parsonage of the Sacred Heart Catholic Church, by Reverend H. P. Toeller, on October 31, 1923. He has one daughter, Ruby Christine, 3 months of age. 
 

Politically, he is Independent. His hobbies are fishing and motoring.
