Albert Herman Meyer, 201 South Peach, son of Mrs. John Meyer, town of Mayville, Clark County, was born in that township August 24, 1890. Leaving school, he followed farm and woods work until he reached 20 years of age, after which he embarked in farming for himself on an 80-acre tract of wild land two and one-half miles northwest of Dorchester. Four years later he bought his brother, Herman’s 80-acre improved farm, across the road from the wild eighty, which was sold a year after acquiring it. He operated the newly acquired farm for 13 years and then rented it and moved to Abbotsford where he was employed about nine months in the Cheese Federation Warehouse. Next he returned to his place near Dorchester to re-engage in farming. Disposing of the farm a year later, he moved to this city to work in the local cheese warehouse, beginning with the opening of the place for business. 
 

His marriage to Miss Minnie Lessman was solemnized at the home of the latter’s parents in Lake City, Minnesota, on April 3, 1916. Their children are: Dorothy 12, Margaret 7 and Robert. 
 

He is a stockholder of the Dorchester Farmers’ Store and Pea Canning Company and the Marshfield and Abbotsford Cheese Warehouses. Politically, he is a Republican. His hobby is picking wild berries.
