Charles Casius Chapel, son of Mrs. Seth
Chapel, Salem, Oregon, was born in Sheboygan, Wisconsin, August 1,
1889. When one year old, his parents moved to a farm in the town of
York, Clark County, where he lived until he was 12. Then he went to
Minneapolis, Minnesota, and learned the machinist trade, which
together with blacksmithing and automobile repairing he has
followed since. Leaving Minneapolis, where he spent four years, he
worked two years in Madison and three years in Granton and then
came to this city, 19 years ago, to work in the Lang and Sharmann
Machine Shop. In recent years he was employed as a mechanic in
garages in Marshfield and Salem, Oregon, and about a year ago he
became proprietor of the Franklin Service Station.
Mr. Chapel was married to Miss Ethel
Hart, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. George Hart, Humbird, Wisconsin, in
the Presbyterian church in Neillsville, November 7, 1910. Their
children are: Zonabelle 15, Robert 11 and William 5.
Politically, he is a Republican. His hobby is the radio.
