Justin Dana Seely, 1413 Richfield Street,
was born in the town of Pine Grove, Portage County, Wisconsin,
February 18, 1872. When he was two years old his parents located
near City Point, Clark County, and nine years later moved back to
Pine Grove, where he resided up to 13 years ago, when he located in
this city. His education was received in the public schools. Before
engaging in his present work, he operated a farm. His first work in
this city was at the Hamilton Roddis home as a gardener. Leaving
this work, he served as a substitute rural mail carrier; as a
towerman at the Soo and North Western interlocking plant; a section
worker, under Foremen H. E. Haight and Frank Herrick; as a flagman
at the Cherry and Cedar Street crossings of the North Western Line;
and the past two years in his present position.
He was married to Miss Rosa Harwood, of
Plainfield, by the Reverend Robert Sparks at the parsonage of the
Free Will Baptist Church in Pine Grove on August 29, 1897. Mr. and
Mrs. Seely have one child, Mrs. Ray Engels, Wisconsin
Rapids.
Fraternally, he is identified with the Brotherhood of Maintenance of Way Employees. Politically, he is a Republican. His hobbies are reading and motoring.
