Emil William Budtke is a lifelong
resident in the town of Auburndale, Wood County, where he was born
March 5, 1882. He has made farming his occupation since boyhood,
except 14 or 15 winters spent in the logging woods near Stratford
and Range Line in the employ of the R. Connor Company of this
city.
Following the death of his father in
1907, his farmwork was performed at home until 1917; then he
purchased the home farm, which he has operated since. Seventy-eight
acres are under cultivation, the rest is in pasture and brush land.
He has 30 Holsteins.
He was married to Miss Anna Luepke of
Auburndale in this city in April 1912. They have two children:
Norma, 16 and Edna, 15. The family are affiliated with the
Auburndale Lutheran church.
Politically, he is Independent. His hobby is visiting friends.
