Robert Jacob Breseman was born in the
town of Lynn, Clark County, September 12, 1900, son of Mr. and Mrs.
Jacob Breseman, 1066 South Vine Street. He attended the district
school of the community of his birth and made his home there until
September 1926. Then his parents and family moved to this city. He
accepted a position as salesman in the clothing department of Rose
Brothers Store, which he held three years. Next he spent two years
in the same capacity with Weber Brothers, and the Kestel Company of
this city. Next he was in the employ of the North Western Railway
Company two years, as a station helper at Almond and Wautoma. In
April 1922 he returned to this city, and entered the employ of the
Puerner Creamery Company, which was in April 1922, and has been
with this concern since. In 1923 he enjoyed two months sight-seeing
on the Pacific coast.
While working for Rose Brothers, Webers
and Kestels, he supplemented his education with a course of study
in bookkeeping in the public night school.
He is a member of the Methodist church, of which he is the financial secretary. In the Epworth League of this church, he holds the office of treasurer and financial secretary. Politically, he is a Republican. His hobbies are motoring and enjoying the great outdoors.
