Harvey L. Flatz, who is one of the few
whose birthday anniversaries occur every four years instead of
annually, was born February 29, 1890, at Faribault, Minnesota, and
was educated in public schools of that city. Later he moved with
his parents to Scranton, and in 1910 went to Terry, Montana, where
he acquired ownership of a ranch on which he raised purebred beef
cattle and horses. After disposing of the property, he came to
Greenwood, and in May 1926 purchased a filling station, which he
has since conducted. In 1929 he acquired another station at Loyal.
He was married December 29, 1916, to Miss Hazel Warner in the
community church at Terry, Montana. They have one son,
Dalmain.
Politically, he is a Republican. His hobby is fishing.
