Leland John Bluett, Granton merchant, was born February 27, 1886, at Dausman, Waukesha County, Wisconsin, the youngest son of William and Sarah (Gear) Bluett, pioneer farmers of that community. He supplemented his rural school education with a course at the Palmyra High School, where he graduated in 1906. After teaching rural schools in Waukesha County for three years, he enrolled in the Whitewater Normal School, now the Whitewater State Teachers’ College, where he graduated with the class of 1910. He served subsequently as high school principal at Rome, Wisconsin, for five years; Hilbert, Wisconsin, for four years; and Elcho, Wisconsin, for one year. He then engaged in the general merchandise business at Eagle, Wisconsin, for three years. In 1925 he entered the hardware and farm implement business at Granton, where he has served two years as a member of the village board.  
 

Fraternally he is affiliated with the Granton Camp, Modern Woodmen of America; Palmyra Lodge No. 68, Free and Accepted Masons; and the Fort Atkinson Chapter No. 29, Royal Arch Masons. Politically, he is a Republican. His hobbies are fishing, hunting and athletic games.
