Kearney Davis, who owns and operates a barber shop at Granton, was born May 11, 1877, on a farm a mile west of that village, the son of Theodore and Caroline (Huntley) Davis. His father, a Civil War veteran, died six years ago at the age of 87; his mother died 30 years ago at Granton. He attended the Granton public school and after completing an elementary education, was employed on farms in the community until 1900, when he became a barber in Granton. Subsequently he owned shops in Portland, Oregon, and Tacoma, Washington, spending several months there in 1909, 1913 and 1918. In 1922 he made a trip to the east coast, to St. Lawrence County, New York, the birthplace of his parents.

He was married November 19, 1903, to Miss Myrtle Osgood, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Francis Osgood, also of Granton. They have two children, Mrs. Ronald Gluck (Maurine) of Granton and Charlotte, at home.

Fraternally, he is affiliated with the Granton Camp, Modern Woodmen of America, of which he has been a member the past 20 years, and the Neillsville Lodge, Free and Accepted Masons, which he joined 22 years ago. His hobby is baseball.
