Oscar Rudolph Lange was born on May 11, 1876, in Greenwood, Wisconsin. His parents moved to Medford where he attended the grade and high schools. At the age of 16, he began learning the barber trade, and later opened a shop in Rib Lake, which he conducted for six years. In 1901 he came to Marshfield. He established a shop in the basement of the Thiel building, Central Avenue and Third Streets, then known as the Rembs and Sturm Building. He continued in this business until nine years ago when he and William Baer, entered into a partnership to conduct an undertaking establishment and furniture store, in which business they are still engaged.  
 

Mr. Lange was married on October 25, 1896, to Nellie Aitken of Rib Lake, in Rib Lake, Wisconsin. They are the parents of two daughters: Mrs. Walter Stiemke, at Milwaukee; and Mrs. Douglas Cunningham, at Chicago. 
 

Mr. Lange is a member of the Eagles, the Elks, the Rotary Club, all the branches of the Odd Fellows Order and a director of the Chamber of Commerce. Some years ago he was prominent as the treasurer of the State Aerie of the Fraternal Order of Eagles. Politically, he is Independent. His hobbies are fishing and golf.
