Mrs. Randi Rued, age 93, one of the last pioneers of Hoard (Clark Co., Wis.), passed away at her home on Monday, June 1, after a long illness.
She was born on April 10, 1860 in Ostre Gausdal, Norway and after her marriage to Matt Anderson Rued in March 1889 she came to the U.S. and settled on a farm in Hoard, where she has lived for 64 years. She had been bedridden since September 1948 when she suffered a broken hip. Her husband passed away in January 1949.
Surviving are two sons, Axel Rued, Milwaukee, Paul Rued, Big Lake, Minn. Two daughters, Mrs. Marie Ness of Venice, Calif., and Miss Agnes Rued at home. There are 11 grandchildren and 13 great-grandchildren.
Funeral services were held on Thursday p.m., June 4 from the Ev. Lutheran Church with burial on the family lot in the parish cemetery. The Rev. O. K. Odland officiated.
