Stowe, Mary (13 MAY 1875 - 12 JUN 1953)

Mrs. Mary Stowe, 78, died at Badger Sunset Home at Fairchild, at 11:15 p.m. Friday, June 12, 1953.

Mrs. Stowe, the former Mary Roohr, was born in the Town of Beaver (Clark Co., Wis.), May 13, 1875.  She was married to Pat Stowe in 1902.

She lived for most of her life in the town of Beaver.  About a year ago she went to the Badger Sunset Home.

Mr. Stowe died in 1934.  Three brothers and one sister also preceded her in death.

She is survived by two brothers, John Roohr at Owen, and Jake Roohr, Pittsville; also by three sisters, Mrs. Margaret Sumner, California; Mrs. Hazel Carrington, Oregon; and Mrs. Anna Ostack, Milwaukee, Wis.

Funeral services were held at the Myre Funeral Home Tuesday at 2 p.m.  Burial was in the Beaver Cemetery.  William Baker, a Bible Student, officiated.

Mrs. William Baker and Ernestine Hake sang, "Rest for the Toiling Brow: and "The Eye That Never Sleeps" with Mrs. Elwood Fisher as organist.

Pallbearers were Lawrence Neuman, Richard Wittee, Sr., Adam Roohr, Richard Wittee, Jr., bud Wittee, and John Widmore.

Flower girls were LaVonne Neuman, Joel Neuman, Paulette Wittee, and Bonnie Ewert.

Mrs. Anna Ostack, Milwaukee, attended the funeral, also many from this vicinity.
