Jakel, Anna #2 (18 JUL 1894 - 11 AUG 1953)
Mrs. Anna Jakel, 59, passed away at her farm home early Tuesday, Aug. 11, 1953, after a lingering illness.
She was born July 18, 1894 at Fulda, Germany and came to St. Paul at the age of 6 years. her parents died in 1906 when she came to live here in December 1912. She was married to Chas. Jakel and has since lived on the farm near Curtiss (Clark Co., Wis.).
Funeral services will be held today, Aug. 13, at 2 o’clock p.m. from the Evangelical and Reformed Church. Rev. O. K. Odland will officiate and burial will be made on the family lot at Pine Hill Cemetery.
Mrs. Jakel was a faithful member of the Evangelical and Reformed Church and its Women’s Guild. She was active in community affairs and will be missed by a host of friends, as well as her family.
She is survived by five sons, Arnold, Milwaukee; Carl on the home farm; Robert of Cedar Rapids, Ia.; Dale in service on Guam; Dennis at home, and three daughters, Mrs. Henry (Elaine) Hermanson of Brook, Indiana; Mrs. Paul (Lucille) Steiner of Kingfisher, Okla., and Beatrice at home, and eight grandchildren. Her husband passed away in January 1951 and a son, Elmer in November 1949.
