Friedenfels, Billy (1938? - 7 OCT 1953)
Billy Friedenfels, 15-year-old son of Mr. and Mrs. Emil Friedenfels, route 2, Owen (Clark Co., Wis.), was the victim of a farm accident late yesterday afternoon when the tractor he was working with overturned on him.
He was skidding timber across a creek bottom at the time which evidently became lodge. In an effort to free it Billy shoved the throttle forward on the tractor and the spurt of power overturned in backwards, pinning him beneath it. Moments later three nearby workers rushed to his assistance but were unable to extricate him before he passed away.
Billy was a sophomore student in the Owen High School but hadn’t been in school for the past two weeks because of the heavy farm work being done at home.
He is survived by his parents, six brothers and three sisters.
Late this forenoon funeral arrangements were still incomplete.
