Owens, Viola A. (2 AUG 1913 - 7 NOV 1953)

 

Funeral services were conducted at two o’clock Wednesday afternoon, Nov. 11, for Mrs. Will Owens, 40, from Griebenow’s Funeral Home.  Rev. Arthur Meinhardt officiated with vocal selection being sung by Mrs. Meinhardt.  Burial was made in the family lot in the cemetery in the Town of Green Grove.

 

Serving as pallbearers were Melvin and Edgar Buchholz, Harry Lipprandt, Rueben Schulte, Walter Fink and Pierce Owens, Jr.  In charge of the floral offerings were Mrs. Charlie Pribernow, Anita buchholz, Mrs. Albert Laabs, Mrs. Norman Behringer, Mrs. Walter Fink and Mrs. Albert Molle.

 

Mrs. Will Owens, nee Viola Alvina Awe, was born on Aug. 2nd, 1913 in the Town of Green Grove.  She was the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Edwin Awe.

 

On Nov. 5, 1931 she was united in marriage to Will Owens in a ceremony performed at the First Congregational Church, Owen.  For several years they made their home near Owen until 13 years ago  when they moved to the southern part of the state, and for the past five years had made their home in Union Grove, Wis.

 

Mrs. Owens passed away Saturday morning, Nov. 7th, 1953.  Her untimely death is mourned by her husband, one daughter, Gertie, 10; her parents, Mr. and Mrs. Edwin Awe, Owen; her grandmother, Mrs. John Awe, a resident of California; five sisters, Mrs. Steve (Adeline) Konik, Newton, Wis.; Mrs. Uno (Norma) Kolpanen, Owen; Mrs. Clark (Laura) Van Gorder, Waukegan, Ill.; Mrs. Ervin (Gertha) Jable, West Chester, Ill., and Mrs. Wilfred (Dorothy) Wirtula of Waukegan, Ill.; and three brothers, Edward, Cupertino, Calif.; Lester, Manawa, Wis., and Royal of Colby.
