Okinaw, Koko (1 DEC 1953)
Monday Mrs. Harold Roohr, city (Owen, Clark Co., Wis.), received word that her brother Sherman had wed a Japnese girl while serving with the armed forces in Japan.
Sherman is the son of Mr. and Mrs. Sherman Long, Sr., formerly of Curtiss and now residents of Milwaukee. According to the announcement he and his bride, the former Koko Okinaw, were united in marriage on Dec. 1st, 1953 in Sindri, Japan.
Pfc. Long has been in the service for the past three years and is expected to return to the states sometime late this month or early in January. He is a graduate of the Curtiss school system and attended high school at Abbotsford.
