Flynn, Eliza #2 (5 JUN 1868 - 19 FEB 1954)

 

Mrs. James Flynn, 85, of Owen (Clark Co., Wis.), died, Friday, Feb. 19th, 1954 at the Stanley Memorial Hospital, where she was admitted Tuesday afternoon.

 

Her death was due to pneumonia.

 

Her body was taken to Griebenow’s Funeral Home at Owen, where funeral services were held at 2 p.m. on Feb. 23.  Rev. Wagner officiated and burial took place in the Riverside Cemetery.

 

Eliza McKinzie was born June 5, 1868 to David and Rose (Ferries) McKinzie in Canada, came to Wisconsin when about 5 years old and settled in Clark County where she spent most of the remainder of her life.

 

On April 14, 1888 she was united in marriage to James Flynn in Greenwood.  They farmed for many years near Loyal, but the last 33 years they farmed near Owen.

 

Surviving are two daughters, Mrs. Theo. (Lula) Buker of Loyal, Mrs. James (Alta) Harper of Calif., one son Roy at home.  One daughter, Mrs. Lewis (Alma) Rusch preceded her in death.  All her brothers and sisters also preceded her in death.  Also surviving are 4 grandsons, Ray Harper of Calif., Shirley and Walter Busch of Thorp and Pvt. James Buker of Washington, and 8 great-grandchildren and one great-great-grandchild.

 

Pallbearers were Bill Kolpanen, Lewis Gehrke, Kristian Rasmussen, Viggo Rasmussen, Bill Hautamaki and Emery Sorenson, all of Owen.  Flowers were in charge of Miss Lillian Salo, Mrs. Harvey Schwarze and Mrs. Viggo Rasmussen, all of Owen.

 

Relatives and friends attending were from Thorp, Loyal, Greenwood and Owen.  A daughter, Mrs. James Harper of Calif. was unable to come.
