Longwood, Wisconsin

The N. E. L. church of Longwood, enjoyed a sabbath school picnic on Children's day, July 27. The sum of $7.63 was received from the children for the benefit of the fatherless and motherless within the church. The pastor comes here every three weeks. On Friday he attends the Women's society: Saturday is employed to teaching the children: Sunday, holds service at Longwood at 11 a.m. and at Owen at 4 p.m.

The Women's society of the N. E. L. church, met last Friday with Mrs. P. C. Johnson.

Mrs. C. Benson drove to Withee Sunday to meet her aunt, Mrs. C. Meyer of Chicago.

The Landlord and his wife of Longwood, visited with their children at Withee Sunday.

The members of the N. E. L. church were welcomed at a social given by the M. E. church Saturday night.

Olaf Hanson and Alma Johnson were united in holy matrimony by the Rev. C. M. Larson at the bride's home Aug. 18.

Ole Sorenson took a herd of cattle to Curtiss Saturday.

Mr. Sanders and family of Thorp, is visiting his parents, Mr. and Mrs. Jno. Sanders, of this place.

On our return from service Sunday evening we met Elvy Barr with a watermelon nearly as large as himself.

One of Philo Mead's children has been ill for a few days.

Mrs. A. C. Farewell was on the sick list last week.

The Bowen young people went to Withee Friday evening.

P. M. Stevens passed through the village Tuesday.

Miss Estella Mead and a young gentleman from Withee were visiting her parents Sunday afternoon.

Mr. Paulson of Granton, was looking after his creamery interest here last Friday.
