Shortville

Mrs. Dorr Neff of Carlisle, and Mrs. Ruthford of Lake Mills, were calling on friends and relatives in Shortville Friday.

J. W. Shaffer and wife and Mrs. Fraker of Waupaca, visited at W. A. Forbes Thursday.

Mrs. W. A. Forbes and daughter Mae went to Neillsville Friday.

Mrs. Stevens visited at J. R. Carter's Friday.

Gus. Nelson had a shingling bee Thursday.

Ed. Haggie who has been visiting his brother for a few days, returned to his home in Milwaukee Monday, taking little Ella Haggie with him to stay with her grandma for a while.

Henry Merritt and son of Colby, were renewing old acquaintances here Friday, and found it more enjoyable than black berrying.

Bertie Neff and Ernest Green of Carlisle attended Christian Endeavor Sunday evening.

John Van Fleet is reported quite sick with catarrhal fever.

Beulah Ward was quite sick Sunday.

Old Mr. Frantz lost a valuable cow lately, which was found dead in the woods.

Miss Grace Savage is home from Day where she has been working for some time at Dan Neff's. Mrs. Neff has been quite sick but is reported on the gain.
