Bach, Fern A. (1 MAY 1954)
Sacred Heart Catholic Church at Stetsonville was the scene on Saturday morning of the nuptial High Mass read by the Rev. Joseph Seeboth for Miss Fern Alice Bach of Medford, who was given in marriage by her father to Harold H. Laube of Owen (Clark Co., Wis.).
The bride, who is the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Math Bach of Medford, chose a traditional white gown with fitted bodice of rose-point lace over satin which was topped with a sweetheart neckline and closed at the back with tiny lace covered buttons. Fitted lace sleeves formed points over the bands. The ballerina length skirt was of nylon tulle over satin topped with a half-skirt of deep scalloped rose-point lace. A crown of tiny orange blossoms secured the fingertip veil of nylon tulle. She carried a colonial bouquet of red roses and white stephanotis.
Bridal attendants were Mrs. Francis Hohl of Capron, Ill., who was matron of honor for her sister; Miss Harriet Plummer of Stanley and Miss Agnes Stelzel of Dorchester, friends of the bride, as bridesmaids. Eileen Potocnik of Owen, niece of the groom, was flower girl.
A ballerina length dress of lace and nylon over satin with matching lace bolero was chosen by each attendant who wore a harmonizing wrist corsage to match her gown. The dresses were blue, yellow and pink, respectively.
The flower girl, in a dress similar to that of the bride, wore a gown of blue nylon net with matching bonnet.
Best man for the groom was his brother-in-law, Francis Hohl of Capron, Ill. Groomsmen were Richard Laube of Owen, brother of the groom, and Dennis Mertens of Dorchester, a friend.
Perry Bublitz of Owen, nephew of the groom, attended the flower girl and Aaron Staab of Dorchester, dressed in white, was ring bearer. The latter is a nephew of the bride.
Navy and white accessories accented the nylon crepe suit sress worn by the bride’s mother, while the mother of the groom chose a navy dress accented with pink accessories. Each mother had a corsage of pink and white roses.
Approximately 150 guests were entertained at dinner and a reception held in the church parlors.
The bride is a graduate of the Medford High School and has been employed for the past three years as a secretary at the home office of the Thorp Finance Co. The groom is a graduate of the Owen High School and has recently been separated from service, having been in service for two years. The couple will reside on his farm south of Owen after they return from a honeymoon spent in the southern part of Wisconsin and Iowa.
Out of town guests included those from Medford, Dorchester, Owen, Greenwood, Withee, Stanley, Thorp, Baraboo, San Antonio, Texas and Capron, Ill.
