Schroeder, Ernie (? - 22 JUN 1954)

E. A. Schroeder, former Owen (Clark Co., Wis.) resident, and now of Wis. Rapids, was killed instantly Tuesday afternoon when the light plane he was riding in along with three other Wis. Rapids businessmen crashed at Atlanta, Ga.

Mr. Schroder is well remembered here by the older residents, having operated and engaged in the livery stable and bulk gas business.  He and his family moved from here to Wis. Rapids about 24 years ago.

His widow is a sister to Mrs. William Wendt, city.

He and his friends had left the municipal airport at Stevens Point at 3:30 a.m. enroute to Jessup, Georgia.  At Jessup he planned to surprise his daughter Eleanore and son-in-law Mr. and Mrs. Ralph Kutchera, with a visit.

"Ernie", as he was known to his friends, is survived by his wife and two daughters, Mrs. Kutchera and Mrs. John Jefferson of Wis. Rapids.

Funeral services will be held at two o’clock Saturday afternoon in Wis. Rapids.
