Drescher, Richard P. (21 October 1941 - 17 October 1986) With Flag

 

Richard P. Drescher, 44, Wisconsin Rapids, formerly of Neillsville and Granton area, died at 2 p.m. Friday at Victory Hospital, Waukegan, Ill., following a semitrailer truck accident.

 

Services will be 1:30 p.m. Tuesday at Rembs/Kundinger Chapel, Marshfield, with Rev. Timothy E. Wenger, of St. Luke’s Luther Church, Wisconsin Rapids, and the Rev. Gary M. Albert, concelebrants. Carol Snelling, organist, will accompany Duane Helgerson, soloist. Burial will be in Hillside Cemetery, Marshfield.

 

Pallbearers will be: David Schroeder, Keith Luebke, Gary Millard, David Poehnelt, Kevin J. Lieders, Jerry Brock, Dennis R. Dickrell and Carl Bowden.

 

Visitation at Rembs/Kundinger Chapel will begin at 4 p.m. today and on Tuesday until service time.

 

Mr. Drescher was born Oct. 21, 1941, in Milwaukee, to Carl and Frances Drescher.  He graduated from Neillsville High School in 1959 and attended District I Technical Institute, Eau Claire.

 

He married Janice D. Harding on July 17, 1965, in Zion Lutheran Church, Granton.  She survives.

 

He was employed at Northern Auto, Marshfield, for four years, and then worked for Roehl Trucking Inc., Marshfield for more than 17 years as a truck driver.  The past two years he owned and operated his own truck, leasing it to Dairyland Transport of Wisconsin Rapids and most recently to TMC Inc., Des Moines, Iowa.  He served in the U. S. Army and Army Reserves from 1963-1969.

 

He was a member of St. Luke’s Lutheran Church.

 

Surviving besides his wife, are two children, Clint and Julie, both at home; a sister, Mrs. George (Carol) Brenner, Loyal; and his parents, Granton.
