Erickson, Carol (JUL 1954)
Miss Carol Ruth Erickson became the bride of Donald Wm. Schumacher of Dorchester at a very lovely ceremony performed by the Rev. Msgr. Thomas J. Hayden in St. Louis Catholic Church in Dorchester.
The bride advanced to the altar on the arm of her father, who gave her in marriage.
Miss Erickson chose as her bridal gown white nylon lace and net over satin with matching lace jacket enhanced by a shore veil attached to cap trimmed with pearls and sequins. She carried a bouquet of white gladioli, red roses and lily of the valley.
Mrs. John Pinter, Marshfield, served as matron of honor for her brother’s wife, and Mrs. Howard Erickson, Neillsville, sister-in-law of the bride, was bridesmaid. They wore Nile green and orchid nylon over taffeta, waltz length dresses with matching caps and shoes and carried painted daisies in white lace trimmed satin baskets.
John Pinter, Marshfield, performed best man duties for his brother-in-law, and Hoard Erickson of Neillsville, brother of the bride, was groomsman. The men wore grey coats and black trousers. Ushers were Donald Seidel and William Henlich of Dorchester.
The bride’s mother was present in a navy blue gown with red accessories and the groom’s mother wore navy blue nylon with white accessories. Each wore corsages of red and white garnet roses.
A reception was held at the home of the bride’s parents, Mr. and Mrs. Cornel Erickson, Curtiss, following the ceremony.
A beautiful 3 tiered wedding cake and candles with garden flowers centered the bridal table. Mrs. Gordon Hier of Janesville poured.
The new Mrs. Schumacher attended Taylor County Normal and is primary at the Curtiss State Graded School.
Her husband attended Central State Teachers College and is employed at Roddis Plywood Corp., Marshfield.
The young couple will reside in Abbotsford when they return from a honeymoon in the wester states.
Out of town guests were from Ripon, Stetsonville, Colby, Milladore, Superior, Milwaukee, Westby, Janesfill, Coleman, Abbotsford, Owen and Dorchester.
