Laack, Minnie (19 Feb. 1872 - 25 Apr.
1954)
Mrs. Minnie Laack, 82, died at her home,
Sunday, April 25, after a prolonged illness. The remains were taken
to St. Peter’s Lutheran church at Dorchester at 11:00
o’clock this morning, to lie in state until 2:00
o’clock when the funeral services were conducted. The Rev. F.
H. Sprengler officiated and burial was made in the Dorchester
cemetery. Mrs. Laack was a life long member of St. Peter’s
congregation.
Six grand sons served as pallbearers.
They are Melvin and Eugene Lindau, and Larry Laack, of Abbotsford;
Harlan Laack, Milwaukee; Jerome Tennis, Unity; and Elvin Lindau,
Rice Lake.
Members of the Ladies’ Aid, of
which the deceased was an honorary member, had charge of the
flowers.
Minnie Dake was born Feb. 19, 1872, in
Hessen, Germany, and came, with her parents, in 1880, to a farm
south and west of Dorchester. Her marriage to Gustave Laack took
place May 7, 1892, at Dorchester, and they made their home on a
farm nearby. In 1936, Mrs. Laack came to Abbotsford and resided
here until her death. Mr. Laack died Oct. 24, 1930.
She is survived by seven children: Mrs.
Edward (Alma) Stock, and Arnold Laack, Abbotsford; Mrs. Albert
(Amanda) Lindau, Dorchester; Mrs. Max (Rose) Hoffman, Stetsonville;
Mrs. Melvin (Edna) Tennis, Mrs. Harry (Leona) Mandel and Mrs. Floyd
(Elva) Binning, Unity. Besides her husband, she was preceded in
death by an infant daughter, a son, Gilbert, three brothers and one
sister.
There are 25 grand children, 15 great
grand children who also survive.

Funeral services for Mrs. Minnie Laack,
82, who died April 25, were held Thursday afternoon at St.
Peter’s Lutheran church, Dorchester. Burial was made in the
Dorchester cemetery.
The Rev. F. H. Sprengler officiated at
the services during which Herbert Juneau sang "Asleep in Jesus,"
and the Ladies Aid sang in German "Las Mich Gehen."
The pallbearers were six grand sons,
Eugene and Melvin Lindau and Larry Laack, Abbotsford; Elvin Lindau,
Rice Lake; Harlan Laack, Milwaukee; and Melvin Tennis,
Unity.
The flowers were carried by the Misses
Bonnie Binning, Julain Mandell and Joanne Pribenow, Unity; Jean and
Nancy Laack, all grand daughters, and Gloria Goldamer, great grand
daughter, Abbotsford.
Those attending the funeral were from Milwaukee, Minneapolis, Wausau, Eau Claire, Marathon, Marshfield, Medford, Unity, Stetsonville, Colby, Curtiss, Abbotsford, Owen, and Dorchester.
