Mauritz, Edith G. (27 June 1873 - 5 June
1954)
Funeral services for Mrs. Louis Mauritz,
81, who died Saturday evening at 7:10, at her home, were held
Wednesday afternoon. The body was taken from the Zink Funeral Home
after services held there at 1:00 o’clock to the Salem
Evangelical United Brethren church, at Dorchester. The Rev. Harvey
Welch officiated at services at 1:30. Internment followed in the
Dorchester cemetery. Graveside rites were in charge of the Royal
Neighbors of which Mrs. Mauritz was a member.
Pallbearers were Leo Banditt, Harry
Emling, Walter Krueger, Malcolm Lamont, Albert Nelson, and Harry
Olson.
The flowers were carried by Mmes. Harry
Emling, Grace Lundahl, Albert Nelson, and Ella Waldhart.
Mrs. Mauritz, formerly Edith G. Reynolds,
was born June 27, 1873, in Monroe, where she received her
education. On April 10, 1912, she was married to Louis Mauritz at
Weyauwega, and the couple resided in Abbotsford.
She is survived by her husband; a
daughter, Mrs. Gordon (Lila) Phaneuf, Abbotsford; a son, Miles
Mauritz, of Whittier, Calif.; a son, Frank Parge, El Monte, Calif.;
a brother, C. M. Reynolds, Abbotsford; eight grand children, and 11
great grand children.
Her grand children are: Mrs. Howard
Daane, Sheboygan Falls; Warren Phaneuf, Marshfield, who at the
present time is in Greenland; Marlyn Phaneuf, Milwaukee; Mrs.
Lester Reiter, Stetsonville; Larry Phaneuf, Abbotsford; Marjorie,
Barbara and Alice Mauritz, Whittier, California.
A son preceded her in death.
Relatives from away who attended the funeral were: Miles Mauritz, Whittier, Calif.; Gordon Phaneuf and Mr. and Mrs. Marlyn Phaneuf, Milwaukee; Mr. and Mrs. Howard Daane, Sheboygan Falls; Mr. and Mrs. Lester Reiter, Stetsonville; Mr. and Mrs. W. W. Mauritz, Wayzata, Minn., and their son and daughter-in-law, Mr. and Mrs. Creighton Mauritz and Mrs. John Ober, of Minneapolis.
