Smart, Alfred (29 Sept. 1870 - 4 Oct.
1954)
Alfred Smart, 84, died Monday, Oct. 4, at
the home of his son, Donald, in the town of Hull. Funeral services
were held this afternoon at 2:00 o’clock at the Lulloff
Funeral Home, at Colby, and internment followed in the Colby
cemetery with the Rev. Richard Harrison, of the Presbyterian
church, of Abbotsford, officiating.
Death was reported caused by shock
following an accident, when Mr. Smart fell down the cellar steps
two weeks ago.
Alfred Smart was born Sept. 29, 1870 at
Plymouth. When he was eight years old he came, with his parents, to
the town of Hull and lived there all his life. He was married to
Alvina Granmann Dec. 12, 1891, in the town of Hull.
Surviving him are his son, Donald, on the
home place one and one-half miles south of Cherokee; Charles, on a
farm nearby; Benjamin, Milwaukee; three daughters, Mrs. Walter
(Edith) Wurthmann, Wausau; Mrs. Mike (Evelyn) Nehring, Edgar; Mrs.
William (Ruth) Loughead, Abbotsford. There are 13 grand children
and 18 great grand children.
His wife, one daughter, two brothers and two sisters preceded him in death.
