Noah, Norman "Norm"  (02 JULY 1929-20 AUG 2009)

 

Norman C. "Norm" Noah, 80, Oconto, died on Thursday, Aug. 20, 2009, at his home. Funeral services were held on Aug.25, at Holy Trinity Parish, Oconto. Interment will be at a later date.

 

Norman "Norm" Noah was born on July 2, 1929, in Greenwood, to Emil and Marianna (nee Braun) Noah. He married Jean LaViolette on Sept. 9, 1967. He served in the U.S. Army during the Korean War, where he earned the Purple Heart and Bronze Star and the Korean Service Medal. He earned his master degree and taught sciences for 37 years at the Oconto Senior High School. He was very involved in community and church activities. He enjoyed an array of hobbies from crafts to woodworking. He was a member of Holy Trinity Parish, Oconto, American Legion Post #74 where he was a longtime sergeant at arms, and the Retired Educators Association.

 

Survivors include his son, Daniel (girlfriend, Amanecer Walker) Noah, Pleasant Prairie; four brothers, Frederick (Ruth) Noah, Hawthorn, Calif., Herbert (Katie) Noah, Stevens Point, Verlan Noah, Loyal, and Elmer (Jill) Noah, Greenwood; five sisters, Evelyn (Orville) Hoffmann, Hartford, Bernelda Karlen, Greenwood, Arvilla (Bob) Blunck, Withee, Arlene (Bob) Stark, Neillsville, and Kathleen (Dick) Fitzl, Loyal.

 

Preceding him in death were his wife, Jean, on March 24, 2006; a brother, Howard Noah; two sisters-in-law, Suzie Noah and Joanne Noah; and a brother-in-law, Wilton Karlen.
