Feb. 1868 - 4 Jan. 1955)
Burial rites for Mrs.
Michael Firnstahl, 86, a former resident of this area who died Jan.
4 at her home in Niles, Mich., were held at 9:30 a.m. Friday at the
Lulloff Funeral Home at Colby. The burial took place in the Colby
cemetery.
Funeral services were
held Thursday morning at St. Mary’s Catholic church in Niles.
Pallbearers were Andrew Arndt, William Meyers, John Gries, A. M.
Steinwand, Joe Krause and Angus Lamont.
Mrs. Firnstahl, formerly
Catherine Leichtnam, was born Feb. 7, 1868, at Abbotsford. She is
survived by her husband, 89, Niles, Mich.; four daughters, Mrs.
Frederic (Sylvia) Nieckrens, Chicago; Mrs. John (Minnie) Wilkinson,
Evanston, Ill.; Mrs. Ray (Matilda) Chapman, Niles; and Mrs. Russell
(Malena) Cline, Mishawaka, Ind.; a son, Urban Firnstahl, Niles; two
sisters, Mrs. Betty Fischer, Chicago; and Mrs. Hermina Herman,
Colby; two brothers, Albert and Edward Leichtnam, Abbotsford; 12
grand children and 16 great grand children.
A son, Raymond, was a
World War I casualty and another son, Edmund, died in February,
1954.
Out of town relatives who attended the services at Colby were Mr. and Mrs. Frederic Nieckrens of Chicago, Mr. and Mrs. Urban Firnstahl of Niles, Mich., Mr. and Mrs. Earl Procknow of Athens and Mrs. Inga Firnstahl, Mrs. Sidney Lee and Karen, Michael and James Lee, all of Marshfield.
