Olson, Dorothy M. Mrs.
(Marriage - 14 May 1955)
In the Assembly of God
church, Mrs. Dorothy M. Olson and Duane W. Neuman exchanged
marriage vows, Saturday afternoon, May 14. The Rev. Robert Spencer,
Waupaca, read the double ring service at 2:30 o’clock and
nuptial music was provided by Mrs. Elmer Jensen and Mrs. Reuben
Mantik, who sang a duet, "Each Step I Take." Mrs. Mantik also sang
"O Promise Me," with Mrs. Earl Cleveland, of Wausau, as accompanist
for both selections.
The bride is the daughter
of Mrs. Mae Kanneberg, of Merrill, and Alfred Kanneberg, of Loyal,
and the groom is the son of Mr. and Mrs. Lawrence Neuman, of Unity.
For her wedding, the
bride was attired in a pastel blue ballerina net over taffeta gown
with a taffeta bolero. Tiers of ruffled net adorned the skirt, the
net bodice was shirred and shirred taffeta encircled the midriff. A
head piece of tiny gardenias held the matching shoulder length
veil. She carried a bouquet of red roses and white gardenias.
Attending the couple were
Mr. and Mrs. Edwin C. Kanneberg, Rockford, Ill., brother and
sister-in-law of the bride, and Miss LaVonne Neuman, of Unity,
sister of the groom, and Richard Witte, Jr., cousin of the groom,
of Spencer.
The bride’s
attendants wore ballerina length strapless net over taffeta dresses
with matching bolero. Their matching head dresses were of ruffled
net. Pink was the color chosen for the matron of honor and Nile
green for the bridesmaids. They carried smaller bouquets like that
of the bride.
The mothers of the bridal
couple and Mrs. Elizabeth Roohr, of Owen, grand mother of the
groom, all chose navy blue ensembles with white accessories. Each
had a gardenia corsage.
Ushers were Kenneth
Kanneberg, Loyal, brother of the bride, and Hubert Witte, Colby,
cousin of the groom.
Following the ceremony, a
reception was held at the church basement and in the evening, the
couple greeted friends at the groom’s farm. About 200 guests
were in attendance from Rockford, Ill., Dubuque, Ia., Merrill,
Loyal, Unity, Milwaukee, Sussex, Spencer, Menomonie, Withee, Owen,
Colby and Abbotsford.
Mr. and Mrs. Neuman left on a wedding trip to northern Wisconsin and Michigan. They will make their home on the groom’s farm, at Unity.
