Scheuerman, Carl J. (10

Carl J. Scheuerman, 78,
died early Monday morning at his home. He had been bedridden for
the last two years and in very poor health the past six years.
The body lay in state at
the Zink Funeral home until noon today, when it was taken to Christ
Lutheran church where services were held at 2:00 o’clock with
the Rev. F. H. Sprengler officiating. Internment was made in the
Abbotsford cemetery.
Carl Scheuerman was born
in Germany July 10, 1866, and came to America at the age of 12.
After a brief stay in Nebraska, the family came to a farm near
Dorchester.
His marriage to Hattie
Bitter took place July 10, 1903, at Dorchester. The couple lived on
a farm in this vicinity until 1937 and came to Abbotsford. He was a
member of Christ Lutheran church.
He is survived by his
widow; a son, Arnold Scheuerman, Milwaukee; two daughters, Mrs.
Herman (Lenore) Waldhart, Greenwood, and Mrs. Denzil (Gladys)
VanGorder, Eau Claire; a sister, Mrs. Alice Schneider, Seattle,
Wash.; a brother, Jacob Scheuerman, address unknown; 11 grand
children and one great grand child.
Twin children preceded
him in death.

Many relatives were here
for the funeral of Carl J. Scheuerman, held on Thursday afternoon
at Christ Lutheran church at 2:00 o’clock. The Rev. F. H.
Sprengler conducted services during which Mrs. Nick Selzner, of
Chippewa Falls, a sister-in-law, and two nieces, Mrs. Kieth
Shipman, Chippewa Falls, and Mrs. George Webb, of Bloomer, sang
"The Old Rugged Cross" and "Safe in the Arms of Jesus." Miss
Dorothy Kieser was organist.
Six nephews served as
pallbearers for the internment, made in the Abbotsford cemetery.
They were Kieth Shipman, Chippewa Falls; Clifford Ellingson,
Stetsonville; Jim Beyerl, Edgar; Harold Custer, Lester Palmer and
George Webb, Bloomer.
The flowers were carried
by the Misses Beverly and Joyce Van Gorder, Eau Claire, grand
daughters; and Mrs. Clifford Ellingson, Stetsonville, and Mrs.
Harvey Wilson, Iowa City, Ia., nieces.
Other relatives and friends from away here for the funeral came from Iowa Falls, Iowa, Chippewa Falls, Bloomer, Laona, Antigo, Milwaukee, Eau Claire, Greenwood, Stetsonville, and Edgar.
