Schueler, August F. (27 May 1870 - 24 Sept. 1955)  
 

August F. Schueler, 85, died Saturday, Sept. 24, at 10:30 p.m. at his home, of complications developing from a stroke suffered two years ago. A brief service for the family was held at the Schueler home at 10:00 o’clock Wednesday morning and services were held at Christ Lutheran church at 2:00 o’clock with the Rev. F. H. Sprengler officiating. The deceased was a member of Christ Lutheran church.  
 

During the church services, the Misses Dorothy and Marilyn Kieser sang "Jesus, Saviour, Pilot Me," and "Jesus Is Tenderly Calling." 
 

For the internment, which was made in the Colby cemetery, the pallbearers were Royal Archambo, Martin Larson, Ed Leichtnam, Albert Nelson, George Reil, and M. C. Thompson. 
 

The flowers were carried by Mrs. Royal Archambo, Mrs. Hermina Herrmann, Miss Alvina Heise, Mrs. Fred Kobs, Mrs. Ed Leichtnam, Mrs. Albert Nelson, Mrs. George Reil and Mrs. M. C. Thompson.  
 

August F. Schueler was born in Lomira, May 27, 1870. His parents moved to Abbotsford when he was 9 years old and operated a restaurant and livery stable on the property now occupied by Jarocki’s Store. Mr. Schueler also worked as section foreman until his marriage when he and his bride, the former Augusta Greseki, of Colby, made their home on a farm in the town of Colby, where they have since resided. Their marriage took place at Colby Jan. 14, 1893.  
 

Mr. Schueler is survived by his widow and three daughters, all at the home address: Mrs. Clarence (Elsie) Gosse, Miss Elfrieda, and Miss Minna Schueler.  
 

An only grand child, Maynard Gosse, preceded him in death on July 29, 1946. 
 

He was the last member of his family, having been preceded in death by his parents and two sisters, Mrs. Amelia Franz and Mrs. Lena Nelson, and two brothers, William and Herman Scheeler.
