Blackberry expeditions are still in order.
The saw mill finished its labors after an eight months' run, Saturday.
Bears are said to be plentiful in the woods hereabouts.
Mrs. Sally Worden returned to her home in Jackson county Saturday.
A crew of men are engaged in putting in new and heavier steel on the Central R. R. from this place east.
John Smart is down near Thorp doing some carpenter work for Mike Denny.
Misses Alice and Stella Baker entertained a number of invited guests at their home near here Friday evening.
Gust Anderson has purchased John Evenson's interest in Evenson Bros.' land near here.
Jack McCalk of Stanley, has purchased a small piece of land near the wagon bridge.
The building of one more mile of road will enable residents of the Yellow river settlement to reach Thorp and Stanley via Eidsvold.
There was a lively dance at the residence of H. Skaugstad Saturday night.
While on an excursion to Six Mile lake Saturday Henry Baxter accidentally cut one of his feet.
School Notes: The Rogers's Creek school began on Monday with Prof. M. S. McKee at the helm. Stella Baker began her first term of school in the Dundard district, town of Worden, Monday. We were wrong in stating that Grace Boardman would teach in the Samuelson district; Dena Howard has that position. Alice Baker went to Ralph P. O. Monday, where she began teaching on Tuesday. Myrtle Ruscher is attending high school at Stanley.
