Anderson, Hilda (18 Nov. 1866 - 15 Mar. 1956)

Mrs. Charles G. Anderson, former long time resident of this community, passed away March 15, at Sacramento, California, after a long illness.

Mrs. Anderson, whose maiden name was Hilda Fredrika Carlstrom, was born in Sweden on Nov. 16, 1866. She was the last survivor of a family of eight brothers and sisters. She grew up and lived the neighborhood of Kalmar, Sweden, until 1901, when she immigrated to the United States with her brother, Ador Karlstrom. The same year she was united in marriage to Charles G. Anderson at Marshfield, and subsequently settled on a farm east of Abbotsford where she lived until 1941 when she moved to California to live with her daughters.

She is survived by her husband, Charles, who has been an invalid for several years, a son, Gerhard, and two grand children, Donna and Gary Anderson, all of Abbotsford; and another son, Carl, and two daughters, Adelia and Nina, of Sacramento, California.

Funeral services were held at the First Presbyterian church in Abbotsford with the Rev. Richard Harrison officiating. Miss Lois Ehrenreich sang "Rock of Ages," and "One Sweetly Solemn Thought." Mrs. J. F. Samson was her accompanist. Internment was made in the Colby cemetery.

The pallbearers were Walter Gaasch, Rolland Gasch, Archie Melvin, Henry Weideman, William Pupp, and John Lindberg.

The flowers were carried by Mrs. Bernard Kunze and the Misses Darlene Gasch, Dorothy Gasch, Delores Melvin, Hazel Weideman, Sandra Lindberg, Lenore Lindberg, Cheryl Weisenberger and Lenore Lenz.

Relatives from away attending the funeral included Miss Adelia and Miss Nina Anderson, Sacramento, Calif.; Mr. and Mrs. Carl Franzan, Park Falls; and friends included Mrs. Maurice Olson and Mrs. Harold Casperson, Neenah; and Mrs. Joe Ourada, Wausau.
