Pecher, Viola (13 Feb. 1901 - 9 July
1956)
Funeral services were held last Thursday
morning for Mrs. Frank Pecher at 9:30 in St. Mary’s Catholic
church, Colby, with the Rev. John Pinion, the Rev. Raymond Schultz,
and the Rev. Frank Brickl officiating. Burial was made in St.
Mary’s Cemetery, Colby.
Pallbearers were nephews of the deceased,
Dennis Radke, Gerald Zettler, James Boris, Donald Pecher, Theodore
Calmes, and Duane Zettler.
Mrs. Pecher, who died Monday afternoon at
her home in Colby, was born Viola Zettler on Feb. 13, 1901, at St.
Nazianz. She was married June 11 at St. John’s Catholic
church, Wurtzberg. She and her husband lived on a farm in the
Athens area until July, 1946, when they moved to Milwaukee, where
they lived for a year, before moving to Colby.
Besides her husband, she leaves two
children, Mrs. Sylvester (Geraldine) Kulas, Abbotsford, and
Carlton, at home; her parents, Mr. and Mrs. Frank Zettler, Sr., of
Athens; three grand children; six brothers, Martin, Frank, Jr., and
Alton, of Athens; Arnold, of Point Arena, Calif.; William,
Milwaukee; and Melvin, of Loyal. Also surviving are four sisters,
Mrs. John (Irene) Hrobsky, San Jose, Calif.; Mrs. Harold (Marcella)
Radke, Stratford; Mrs. Peter (Delores) Boris, Edgar; and Mrs.
Norbert (Bernice) Calmes, Athens.
Out-of-town relatives attending were Mr.
and Mrs. Sylvester Kulas and family, Mr. and Mrs. John Pecher and
Mr. and Mrs. Donald Pecher, Abbotsford; Mr. and Mrs. William
Zettler, Mr. and Mrs. William Jautz and daughter, Milwaukee; Mrs.
Martha Lutzke, Sheboygan; Henry Kautza, Oniwa; Mr. and Mrs. Melvin
Zettler and family, Loyal; Mr. and Mrs. Harold Radke and family,
Stratford; Mr. and Mrs. Peter Boris and family, Edgar; Mr. and Mrs.
