Wegner, Alice (17 June 1924 - 15 Sept.
2009)
NEILLSVILLE -- Alice Wegner, 85, of
Neillsville died Tuesday, Sept. 15, 2009, at Saint Joseph's
Hospital in Marshfield.
Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m.
Thursday at the United Church of Christ in Neillsville. Interment
will be in the Neillsville City Cemetery.
Visitation will be from 9:30 a.m. to 11
a.m. at the church.
The Gesche Funeral Home is assisting
Alice's family with funeral arrangements.

NEILLSVILLE -- Alice Wegner, 85, of
Neillsville, died Tuesday, Sept. 15, 2009, at Saint Joseph's
Hospital in Marshfield.
Alice was born June 17, 1924, in Granton,
the daughter of Ewald and Josephine (Thur) Thiede. She was united
in marriage to Clarence Wegner on Aug. 30, 1942. Alice and Clarence
were married for 53 years. Clarence died in 1995.
Alice was previously a member of Immanuel
Lutheran Church in Globe where she served as their organist for
several years. She also worked as a bookkeeper for several places
including the Wedges Creek Research Farm for five years, the
Farmers Store for 10 years, the Clark County Highway Department for
eight years and the Clark County Treasury Office for a few
years.
She enjoyed traveling to visit relatives
in Alaska, Washington and Florida. Alice also enjoyed time up north
fishing and spending time with her family, grandchildren and
great-grandchildren.
At the time of her death, Alice was a
member of the United Church of Christ in Neillsville, where she
enjoyed being a part of their sewing circle and making
cards.
She is survived by a son, Wayne (Kathy)
Wegner of Neillsville; a granddaughter, Carrie Ann (Chris) Manos of
Green Bay; and a grandson, Bryan (Jill) Wegner of Neillsville; and
four great-grandchildren, Brianna, Allison and Brady Wegner and
Chase Manos. She is further survived by three sisters-in-law, Doris
Struble of Neillsville, Norma Thiede of Minneapolis, Minn., and
Vivian Thiede of Appleton; and several nieces and nephews including
a very special niece, Roxanne.
Alice was preceded in death by her
husband, Clarence; a grandson, Bradley; and an infant
daughter.
Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m.
Thursday, Sept. 17, 2009, at the United Church of Christ in
Neillsville. Pastor James Mohr will officiate. Music will be
provided by Eileen Zank, organist and Corrine Armitage,
soloist.
Interment will be in the Neillsville City
Cemetery.
Visitation will be from 9:30 a.m. to 11
a.m. Thursday at United Church of Christ.
Honorary casket bearers are Frank Pekol
and Everett Dux.
Casket bearers are Jim Hayes, Jim Ingold,
Kerry Kirn, Eric Koula, Bob Ladd and Edward Volovsek.
The Gesche Funeral Home is assisting Alice's family with funeral arrangements.
