Ludwig, Joyce (Marriage - 12 Feb.
1954)
In the presence of their parents, Miss
Joyce Ludwig, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Lawrence Ludwig, of Medford,
and Thomas Hoffman, son of Mr. and Mrs. George Hoffman, of
Abbotsford, exchanged marriage vows in a double ring ceremony,
Friday, Feb. 12. Justice of the Peace Stanley Gibson performed the
ceremony at the home of the bride’s parents, at 2:00
o’clock.
The bride and her attendant, Miss Lucille
Salzman, of Wausau, wore navy blue suits, white blouses and red
accessories. The bride had a corsage of yellow roses and her
attendant wore one of pink and white carnations.
Marvin Salzman, brother of the maid of
honor, was best man. He and the groom were in the service together
in Korea.
A 7:00 o’clock supper was served at
the home of the bride’s parents. The dining room was
decorated with yellow, white, and pink streamers, secured in the
center of the room with a wedding bell. The three tier wedding cake
flanked by low bowls of flowers, was the center piece of the bridal
table.
Mr. and Mrs. Hoffman left on a short
wedding trip to Stevens Point and Wisconsin Rapids. The bride, a
graduate of the Medford High School, is employed in the offices of
Marathon Electric C., at Wausau. The groom, who was discharged from
the army last June, is employed at the Abby Packing and Processing
Company.
Guests at the wedding supper were the bride’s parents, Mr. and Mrs. Lawrence Ludwig, her sister, Miss Dianne Ludwig, her grand parents, Mr. and Mrs. Frank Ludwig, Harry, Melvin and Miss Mary Lu Ludwig, all of Medford; Mr. and Mrs. George Hoffman, sons, Ted, Bill, and Kurt, and daughter, Lynette; Mr. and Mrs. Al Holtzhausen, Mr. and Mrs. Herold Zank and Mrs. John Miller, all of Abbotsford; and Pfc. Dick Hoffman, of Edmonton, North Carolina.
