Sherman, Madison J. (28 Jan. 1861 - 13 Mar. 1954) 
 

Funeral services were conducted Wednesday at Minneapolis for Madison J. Sherman, 93, formerly of Abbotsford and Stevens Point, who died at his home in Minneapolis last Saturday. 
 

He was born at Hastings, Ont., Jan. 28, 1861, a son of the late Mr. and Mrs. Carlisle Sherman. On Oct. 24, 1883, he was married to the former Emma Bushey at Plainfield and the couple resided in Stevens Point. In 1903 he moved to Abbotsford and lived here until about 1918. 
 

Surviving are a daughter, Mrs. Genevieve Nelson, Minneapolis; his brother, Arthur G. Sherman, four grand children and 13 great grand children. 
 

He was preceded in death by his wife; a brother, Harvey, who died in 1888; a sister, Mrs. Mutch, who died in New Brunswick; a daughter and one son, Claude, who died in 1953.
