Schmitt, Betty J. (Marriage - 29 May
1954)
During a service read at St. John’s
rectory, Marshfield, Saturday afternoon by the Rev. Bernard
Schreiber, Miss Betty J. Schmitt, daughter of John Schmitt,
Marshfield, became the bride of Paul L. Fassler,
Abbotsford.
The short, formal-length bridal gown was
fashioned of ivory white silk organza and was detailed with a
softly draped bodice and full circular skirt. The neckline of the
bodice was filled in with tiny flowers made of imported lace. An
organza bolero and half hat completed her attire. She carried
phaleanopsis orchids.
The bride’s sister, Miss Ellen
Schmitt, and her brother, Robert Schmitt, were the only attendants.
The maid of honor wore a short, formal length frock of aqua lace
detailed with a full skirt. Her flowers were pink roses and
stephanotis.
A luncheon for friends and relatives was
held in the dining hall of St. John’s church with out of town
guests in attendance from Milwaukee, Stratford, Abbotsford, and
Freeport, Ill.
The bride is a graduate of the Marshfield Senior High School and before her marriage was employed at the Marshfield Clinic. The groom, who is a graduate of Purdue University, is employed as pharmacist by Wing’s Drug Store, Abbotsford, where the couple will reside.
